🌱 General Care Principles for Natural Fibers

•    Wash in cool to warm water with a gentle, eco friendly detergent.
•    Avoid bleach, optical brighteners, and harsh chemicals.
•    Choose low heat drying or hang to dry whenever possible.
•    Wash similar fibers together to prevent abrasion.
•    Treat stains promptly with mild, natural stain removers.
•    Rotate and air out bedding regularly to maintain freshness.
•    Store clean, fully dry items in breathable cloth bags.

BED LINENS

Bamboo Sheets & Pillowcases

  • Machine wash in cold water on a regular cycle.
  • Use mild, plant based detergent.
  • Tumble dry at regular temperature or line dry for even more freshness.
  • Avoid bleach and fabric softeners; bamboo becomes naturally softer over time.
  • Remove promptly from dryer to reduce wrinkles.

Flax and Hemp Linen Sheets & Pillowcases

PILLOWS, DUVETS & TOPPERS

Kapok Bed Pillows:

  • not machine washable
  • protect your pillow with a pillowcase and/or a pillow protector .
  • spot clean as needed, let dry thoroughly before using
  • Airing your pillows under the sun once a month will help keep them fresh and eliminate odours or impurities.

Buckwheat Pillows:

    • not washable
    • protect your pillow with a pillowcase and/or a pillow protector
    • spot clean as needed
    • if you prefer, dry clean is fine too
    • Another option is to un-stuffed the pillow and wash the case individually. The zipper allows you to remove all the buckwheat hulls. You can later re-stuff the pillow.

      Organic Wool Pillows:

      1. Protect your pillow with a pillowcase and/or a pillow protector
      2. Remove the wool filling, unfold, and air out in the sunshine (outside or indoors). 
      3. Wash cotton casing with regular laundry in cold water.
      4. Wool pillows naturally compress 20-30%, for the original loft fluff the wool or remove some filling to suit your unique needs. Before folding and placing back in the cotton casing.  

      Latex Pillows:

      • Shredded latex pillows can be washed and dried in heavy duty machines. Be sure to dry thoroughly (perhaps with several cycles).

      Latex & Wool Pillows

      • In case of an accident, use a spray bottle of rubbing alcohol to spot clean the pillow. Air dry outside, preferably on a sunny day (sunlight acts as a natural dry clean for wool).

      Bamboo Duvet Inserts:

      • Use a quality duvet cover to help protect your bamboo duvet.
      • Spot clean soiled parts with lukewarm soapy water, if needed.
      • Hang dry in direct sun or tumble dry on a low setting.
      • Fluff the duvet regularly to maintain loft.
      • Do not store your duvet in a plastic and polyester bag, it would trap moisture and promote the growth of mildew
      • Professional dry clean is ok, if you prefer.

      • Do not machine wash in water
      • Wash the duvet cover regularly
      • If needed, spot clean or hand wash soiled parts with lukewarm soapy water or hydrogen peroxide (note, this may cause lightening of fabric).
      • Air out on a hot sunny day few times a year to deodorize and kill germs.
      • Professional dry clean is fine, if necessary.
